A few new photos and a low-res video of a very nice performance by the Madame Gigi's troupe. These are from their Facebook page:

Bastille Day Revisited with Madame Gigi's

Mme. Gigi's Outrageous French Cancan Dancers performed again this year in Milwaukee. I have found two videos of their performance. The first is another very nice performance and a fine video by MsOlga0505:

The original in 1080p:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D2LbtGYPIEQ

The second video is by LizRickaby and can be seen at:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ktAwR26eebM

My only quibble with the performance is the black tights, which I think detract from the video. Perhaps it would be too much to ask for stockings, but even flesh colored tights might be better.

Madame Gigi's - Bastille Days 2016

Video from the 2016 performance at Milwaukee's bastille Day by Madame Gigi's Outrageous French Cancan Dancers.  They seem to have settled on the gigantic black bloomers as their standard garb. Cute perhaps, but needs a rethink.

Doubling Down - Madame Gigi's Outrageous French Cancan Dancers

Well, I still like them.

Here's a performance from 2014 in which they have on their older and, in my opinion better, costumes on. Now, if they would combine these with some stockings, the visuals would be much better.

The performance may not be Broadway quality, but how many are?  Overall I think it's pretty darn good and very entertaining. The ladies are having fun performing, and I enjoy watching them.  I think that's what it is about.  We aren't blessed with all that many cancan troupes in this country, and Madame Gigi's has been and still is a much appreciated asset to our community.

That said, I think we should feel free to comment and offer constructive criticism on the quality of dancing, originality of the performance, costuming, production values, etc., but I also think we should refrain from commenting on the physical attributes of the dancers.  Not everyone can be a fashion model.

I applaud all the ladies who take the time and effort to put on performances for us.  I don't think we should discourage any of them.

A long performance by Dayton's finest - a long-time Club CCD favorite.  You can skip through the guys and the mimes in the middle and just enjoy the ladies' performance at the beginning and at the end if you wish.

you think?

following one from Los Angeles:
