Oh Mes Ananas

Here is a video I liked for obvious reasons from a New Zealand cancan
troupe named Oh Mes Ananas:

There are other nice videos of them at:

Orpheus in the Underworld

From a UK version in the 1980's I believe. If you liked Benny Hill's Benito's sketch, you'll like this too.

The You Tube link is:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BFUqAAEWVE0

In case anyone in the UK or other Region 2 countries wants a DVD of this, it is:

George Walker presents “Orpheus in the Underworld”, a Brent Walker/BBC Co-production

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Orpheus-in-the-Underworld-DVD/dp/B0006IGN2A/ref=cm_rdp_product

I didn't see a US version at Amazon, but I didn't look extensively for one elsewhere.

If you have a worldwide DVD player, this should work for you.

Dollárpapa

Here is a new one from the Soviet Bloc. This one is entitled,
"Dollárpapa", and is from Hungary circa 1956, which was not a happy
time in that country. The real cancan is toward the end of the clip.

Here is the IMDB page, which does not add much useful information:

Mystère au Moulin Rouge

I came across these video clips from a French TV production called Mystère au Moulin Rouge.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IjZEoMKH24c

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0LKzo9lOGbg

There's not much information about it in English that I could fine on the web, but, tantalizingly, the video itself has English subtitles. Perhaps it will be made available in the US or OK at some point in the future.

Here's the IMDB page, with a review:

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1815844/

Does anyone know more about it?

I included some Flickr Links in the last post, but that's sort of a
wasted effort because you can see all the Flickr links I have collected

I haven't had much time to collect and post these lately. I'll try to
do more as I am able.

La Nouvelle Eve in Hong Kong (Back and better than ever)

Do you remember some very nice photos and a video of La Nouvelle Eve
performing in Hong Kong at the Elements Mall in 2008? Unfortunately,
the photos that were linked in messages 353 and 390 (at Cancan Favorites) are no longer
extant, but the video is still there - see message 358.

But there were other talented photographers at work. Take a look at one
of the all time great cancan photo shoots courtesy of Lin P.C. who has
posted his work at PBase. All I can say is "WOW!". And "Thanks!"
