Zaza (2) + Eponymous Italian film

Perry,  I meant to respond the other day on this and forgot.  Thanks and feel free to Photoshop any images I post.

 

By the way, I recently got a copy of a 1942 Italian film version of Zaza featuring Isa Miranda.  I haven't watched it all the way through yet, but the opening has a couple of nicely costumed cancan scenes in it - stockings and garters.  The cancan sequences are brief and somehat comic, but that doesn't spoil them.

Recent Additions: Good Times

 Hi all. Managed to order a DVD of Sonny and Cher's Good Times from Amazon.com, here 's a screencap from the Ride On dance hall sequence (albeit with a bit of photoshop retouching to make the image clearer):

Watching this again after all these years, I'm frankly amazed at what an excellent musical number this scene really was. The costumes and choreography were absolutely spot on for the time (1966); the whole segment was, in fact, a fitting tribute to the old school westerns of the previous decade (particularly the musical version of Destry). Let me know if I should post more from the scene.

Alice Huertas

I've added four Alice Huertas illustrations to the Illustrations page.  I like the nostalgic feel of the 1950's style costumes.  I don't know much about the artist other than her name and her cancan pictures, of which there are a number.  I will post some more in due course.

I've added a number of dancers from the Victorian and Edwardian Periods to History 1.  Most are merely suggestive, but it's interesting to see how the performers of the period actually looked and dressed.  Barbebleu

A professional colleague of mine has just told me about a site called www.tinyurl.com : with this site, you can reduce large URL addresses to tinyurl.com/XXXXXX, the crosses marking the maximum six lettered code: this can then be pasted in to any other document.

 

I know that this will hide the, often interesting, route address for many of our photographs but, in the case of Photobucket, it might prove helpful for users of the original site.

 

Anyway, I thought that I wold pass it on.

Since y'all were kind enough to set aside some display space for the "old man," I browsed through more than 7,000 (!) pictures I've accumulated over the last decade, and selected a bunch that, for various reasons, are near and dear to my heart.  Enjoy.
