Mexican Television Show, "12 Corazones"

Here are a couple of links to the Telemundo Site that have the video of
an episode of a show called "12 Corazones" that include a fairly nice
cancan.

I suspect there are more things to be found on Mexican television
because there are quite a few variety type shows, but I don't really
have the means to locate them.

L'Atlantide

Someone's finally done it! That is, posted a clip of the cancan from
L'Atlantide at You Tube.

Special thanks go to kebecmac1 who did us all a favor at:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aWret4Z88Rs

For fans of the classic cancan, this is one of the best and quite
surprising given how early it is. This is a very clear print and looks
like it might have come from a Blu-Ray. It's certainly better than my
videotape of it.

I've posted a copy at Cancan Classics for archive purposes too:

La Veuve Joyeuse - Part 2

A Twenties version of La Veuve Joyeuse that was originally broadcast on French TV. Unfortunately I don't have the name of the opera company available now but will try to add that later. This version seems to have some Spanish subtitles.

The costumes are a little like the photos of the 1920's Moulin Rouge dancers you've probably seen. I like the way the white stockings and the older style panties look as the dancers perform.

This is in two parts. I edited out several minutes in the middle that didn't contain any dancing. I don't have video editing software that will let me paste them together. If you want to see the original, it was posted at You Tube by roldrolddogo at:

Can you spell Spettaccolo?

This may be one of the most over-the-top cancan spectacles I've seen. It features Mina and is from 1968. I believe the television show was called something like, "Canzonissima". The original, posted by swan5046, can be found at:

And another version is at:

I'd give a lot for a HD version of this and even more for the footage on the cutting room floor.

Niall Young

You may be interested in the work of Niall Young, a UK artist who works
in a hyperpointillist style to produce some arresting images, including
some spectacular images of cancan dancers. His main cancan work to date
is called "l'inattendu":
