This has been posted before, I am sure, but I came across a nice print of the classic Marika Rökk cancan scene from Die Frau meiner Träume (1944). Most of the other postings on You Tube have been from faded prints. This video also includes the preceding Apache number. The transition to the cancan sequence starts about 5:33.
As you will see, it really is an extravaganza worthy of Busby Berkeley. Ms. Rökk actually does the all-out cancan dancing and acrobatics herself, and I'm impressed each time I see her hop down the stairs on one foot while the other is held aloft.
