Angels of Dance

A great set of cancan pictures was just posted on Flickr by a dance
troupe called Angels of Dance or Dance Angels, possibly from Portugal.
The costumes could be better, but it is a very nice collection of
pictures nonetheless.

Casablanca The Dance

I stumbled across this minor gem by accident. It is a staging of
Casablanca with choreography by John Clifford of the Los Angeles Ballet
Dance Theatre. It premiered in Beijing in 2005 and was supposed to go
on tour, but I can't find that it ever did.

One wouldn't expect to find a cancan in it, but there is a nice one.
The dancing is quite good, and the costumes are not bad either. To be
semi-true to the period the costumer fitted the dancers out in stockings
and garter belts, but chose black panties instead of white frilly ones,
which would have been more accurate.

There are two videos that show the cancan scene. One is from the
Chinese production and the other from a workshop. The latter is a
little higher quality, but the male dancer hogs the stage after the
first 45 seconds or so.
