A Shopper's Paradise

Yeah!!

One doesn't normally associate the cancan with a shopping mall, but that is what will be happening in a few days at a “Can can a Paris” show at the Palmanova Outlet Village in the Friuli area in Northeast Italy:

LCCB at the Edwardian Ball

Le Cancan Bijou at the Edwardian Ball

Edwardian Ball acts in slow motion, including LCCB

Both videos are by Mark Day.  The originals, in higher definition, can be seen at:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AGC-lEwB0WA

It is neat to watch the cancan in slow motion, and the regular performance by LCCB is, as always, a treat.

(Check the May 6 posting for a new look.  I still prefer the original though.)

Musée du Coeur

See no evil.  Hear no evil.  Speak no evil.  And none of that either!

Musée du Coeur:

"We are the museum of the heart, bringing cherished theatrical histories to light and life."

"Musée du Cœur is a group of talented professionals hailing from different backgrounds including: costuming, photography, aerial dance, burlesque dance, ballroom... dance, professional ballet, hoop dance, and much more. It is not a traditional troupe. It is a rotating mix of artists looking for something fabulous to do; to share in the name of art, collaboration, mixed media and personal expression."

Bowery Bombshells - Heather Litteer

Now there's a name to go with those cheeks - Heather Litteer.   If you will be offended by a partially bared bottom, you should skip this video.

Original video at:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kt-6QeIRypY

"Cancan" is loosely applied here, but it is an eye-catching performance nonetheless.

Ms. Litteer has some film acting credits to her name as well as burlesque turns.  See more about her at:

Postcard Art

I had not previously seen this rendering of a cancan dancer.  It looks like it might be genuine period artwork, but one never knows.  I don't have any information about the artist.

It came from this web page, which is still under construction:

Simply Red

Simply "Brilliance".   That's the name of the dance group here.  You don't need a whole lot of ruffles to have a good cancan costume as shown by these red petticoats that grab your attention and make things stand out nicely.  But ... about those stockings ... mid-thigh, not mid-calf!

The photo on top is a screen capture generated by You Tube.  The link for the video is:

This show, and one of the dancers in particular, reminds me of some nice photos taken at an outdoor event some years ago.  If I can locate a link I'll add that.
