CanCan Dolly Dollies Japan 1988-89

This is one of those wish-I'd-been-there performances.  The dancers are the Dolly Dollies from a 1988-89 show in Japan.  Accordingly, the video is not very sharp, but the performance makes it worth posting.

The Dolly Dollies have appeared here before in another excellent show.  See the link below.

This video and another I will post separately were originally posted at You Tube by Claire Merritt who I presume was one of the dancers.

Ballet Dolly Dollies

The video is a little grainy, but still very good nonetheless.  The troupe is Ballet Dolly Dollies.

Ballet Verano de Estrellas

TV spectacular cancans, by Spanish or European troupes, posted by YouMoreTv USA

(Ballet Verano de Estrellas in a large stage cancan)

(by a different troupe; a little dim, but of interest to white stockings fans)

The originals can be seen at:

YouMoreTv USA has a separate site at which you can access a large number of videos of various singing and dancing television productions from outside the US:

A couple of these are really good and have been posted before, in particular these by the Ballet Dolly Dollies, both of which are definitely worth another look:

The "Dolly Dollies"

Two excellent videos of a dance troupe called the "Dolly Dollies" performing cancans.  The first is in classic costumes. The second in very colorful ones.

There is a website for the troupe with photos and a video:

http://www.jackdolle.fr/dollydollies/DOLLY_DOLLIES.html

You can find another showgirl style video by searching their name at You Tube.
See the original videos in 720p, posted by YouMore TV Espectaculos:

Another earlier compilation video featuring the dancers in different costumes:

The earlier video indicates an association with Starlight Productions and Bernard Dolle, which may account for the troupe’s name.

De Un Tiempo a Esta Parte

The person who posted the Dolly Dollies videos, YouMoreTv, has also posted some additional items of interest, including the cancan above, which may also be the Dolly Dollies but is not identified as such.  The direct link for the video above is:

From what I can determine these came from a Spanish television show called "De Un Tiempo a Esta Parte" on the Canal 9 network.   The second cancan from yesterday's posting, set in the show it was excerpted from can  be seen at:

These large production numbers have become virtually extinct on US television, but seem to be alive and well in Iberia.   See more non-cancan examples at the YouMoreTv sites:
