Here is a really nice set of photos of a very pretty cancan troupe from
Denmark. I think it may be Karin's, based on the style of the costumes.

Study in Sepia

The Sharon Thompson dancers perform an excellent Can Can at The Tivoli Club of Western Australia. The sepia tone of the video actually adds something to it, I think. The performance includes, among other nice moves, a long handstand and the rarely perfomed maneuver made infamous in the old "Carry On, Cowboy" film. You'll know it when you see it.

The original video, available in 720p, was posted by LifeIsStaged at:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ht7vgyELEO8

I couldn't find a website for the dancers, but here's their contact information, should anyone wish to hire first rate troupe in Australia:

Sarau Romântico - Le Chat Noir

For the white panties and stockings fans - like me - this is a cancan by dancers who I presume are students at the Colégio São Paulo. The choregrapher is Letícia Gonzalez. Nothing spectacular, and there is a hyperactive lighting guy, but I still like it.

See the original video at:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_t3tSxVfahU

For a better look at the shiny whities, sans skirts, check the following video:

And there is another video of the cancan shot from farther away:

Glasgow Subway Festival

You may remember a series of photos on Flickr of some Scottish lasses
cavorting in costume on a subway train. Here's a link to the same girls
in the station before or after the ride:

I am sure you will recognize some of the ladies from prior postings.

Unfortunately the photos are watermaked, but they are nice nonetheless.
You may be able to find some more things of interest by searching around
and using the keywords.

French Cancan - You Tube

Someone has posted most of the film, "French Cancan", on You Tube in 480 resolution, which, though not HD, is pretty good quality.

The two most relevant segments are:

You can easily find the rest of it.

It may not be there long.

Pauline Reader Dancers at the Great Dorset Steam Fair

Great video by nickn5nl of the Pauline Reader Dancers in performance at the Great Dorset Steam Fair. The videographer laments the sun shining into the camera, but compared to most performance videos this is a gem. Many thanks to nickn5nl for this enjoyable video.

See his description at the You Tube posting below where he gives some background about the event and the Pauline Reader Dancers. They have been a fixture at the Steam Fair for many years. May they continue the tradition for many more.

Die Lustige Witwe - Gisettenlied

The Grisettes' song as performed by Monica Theiss-Eröd at the Wiener Operettensommer. I like the classic costumes with stockings. Tip: Some garter belts would keep the stockings from falling to half mast.

Can Can Show - Port Aventura

A nicely filmed version of the Cancan show at the Port Aventura amusement park in Spain. A very entertaining and energetic performance by the Port Aventura dancers.

Better look quickly!

It's back, but probably not for too long. It's "I Tyrens Tegn", the Danish porno film featuring the topless bottomless cancan, and it would be a pretty darned good cancan even if everything were covered.

So avert your eyes if that's not your thing, but if you want a look, go to:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KBVMwH5vTF0

The title of the You Tube video is in Polish, so it might be there a little longer than normal, but I expect someone will complain, and it will eventually be taken down

So, look now if you are curious, before another of the wonders of the world vanishes.

Westerngarde Munich (Münchner Westerngarde e.V.)

An old favorite resurfaces in new costumes (not that there was much
wrong with the old ones).

http://www.ganz-muenchen.de/phpgraphy/?dir=2010%2F07%2Fcowboyclub%2F&sta\
rtpic=24

(The thumbnail photos are enlargeable; there are several pages here, so
be sure to hit "Naechste Seite" several times until you run out of
cancan pictures.

You can also find more and larger Westerngarde photos at the Cowboy Club
site in the new and the old costumes:

This takes some navigation since I can't link you directly to the
relevant photo index pages, and there are too many to link individually.

First go to:

http://www.cowboyclub.de/bilder.html

Cancan photos can be found under "Tag der öffenen Tür 2008" and
"Tag der öffenen Tür 2007".

Click on one of these - for example 2008.

Click on the stylized grid under the picture - the second button

In the case of 2008, go to pages 3 and 4; for 2007 go to page 3

Click and enlarge as you like.

The Westerngarde has its own new site too, which has lost some of the
older photos and gained a few new ones:

Les Ooh La Las - Glastonbury 2010 (corrected)

The always entertaining Ooh La Las perform at the 2010 Glastonbury festival. There are several versions available on You Tube from different performances. The routine is basically the same in each. This is my favorite because of the closeups that are interspersed. A close second is the two camera version from Saturday, where the lighting is better.

The original of this video, posted by the Ooh La Las themselves, can be found at:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tob9P1vlhn4

The two camera Saturday version is:

The rest of their videos can be accessed at:

http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=Lesoohlalas#g/u

Sadly, some twit keeps walking in front of the camera in a couple of them, but just keep your eye on the dancers.

Gina Lollobrigida in "Beautiful, but Dangerous"

Originally entitled, "La Donna Più Bella Del Mondo".

You've seen the stills, but here is a relatively clear video of the dance scene in question. It barely qualifies as a cancan and she is wearing a split skirt, but it's definitely worth a look. There's no doubt why she was a Fifties sex symbol. See her bio at:
